"NCIS" season 13 is headed for a season break but not before one final episode. As the world is gearing for a family-friendly holiday season, the CBS American police procedural drama is having a family-centric midseason finale. 

Episode 10 of "NCIS" season 13 will be the show's last episode prior to the holiday break. Titled "Blood Brothers," it hints at how huge a part family is going to play. As Design & Trend noted, it's a more character-driven plot as the show heads for the holidays.

First off, everybody finally gets to know Ellie Bishop's (Emily Wickersham) mom, Barbara Bishop, portrayed by guest star Lindsay Wagner. SpoilerTV has posted an official synopsis for the said episode stating that the probationary NCIS special agent will be going home for the holidays to Oklahoma, where fans get to meet her mom. But meeting her personally is Supervisory Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Mark Harmon), who goes to Oklahoma with Ellie.

Furthering the family drama, the team is also going to have an emotional phone call from the Secretary of the Navy. The secretary asks for help in finding a bone marrow donor for a leukaemia-stricken marine. Apparently, the marine's parents have already lost two sons in the line of duty and they want to make sure they don't lose another one. 

So there's going to be lot of heart, with one website even describing it like "Saving Private Ryan."

Appearing as guests aside from Wagner are Ryan Doom as George Bishop, Ellie's brother; Joe Spano as Senior FBI Agent T.C. Fornell; Patricia Bethune as Paulette Quinn; Jack Mekesell as Navy Lieutenant Alex Quinn; Eric Nelson as Sean Quinn; Grantham Coleman as former Army sergeant Richard Doogan; Harry van Gorkum as Alton Brinkman; and Start McLean as Malcolm Turro. 

"NCIS" season 13 episode 10 airs on CBS this Nov. 24.
