'NCIS: Los Angeles' season 7: renewal confirmed for seventh season despite decrease in ratings
"NCIS: Los Angeles" is returning for a seventh season and is set to air in 2016. According to RenewCancelTV, CBS has renewed 15 series including "NCIS: Los Angeles".

The show's ratings have dropped since being moved to Monday nights, based on statistics from TVSeriesFinale, but it still performed well enough to secure a renewal for a seventh season. The series averaged a 1.62 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 9.32 million for season six—a decline of 34% and 37% in demographic and viewership, respectively. Despite this, "NCIS: Los Angeles" remains in the top five highest rated drama series for CBS this season.
In CBS' official twitter feed, a message claims that there will be an "NCIS" and "NCIS: Los Angeles" crossover next season. One of "NCIS" favorites, Michael Weatherly (Special Agent Anthony Dinozzo) will guest-star in the spin-off as the same character.
Spoilers hint that the sixth season will end with Callen (Chris O'Donnel) uncovering new information regarding his father, a person he's been searching for quite some time. The next season might shed some light on his search and a reunion may be iminent.
"NCIS: Los Angeles" is the original spin-off of the widely popular "NCIS" (Naval Criminal Investigative Service). It follows the exploits of the Los Angeles-based Office of Special Projects—an elite division of NCIS specializing in undercover assignments. The series stars Chris O'Donnel as G.Callen, LL Cool J as Sam Hanna, Daniela Ruah as Kensi Blye and Peter Cambor as Nate Getz. Also in the cast are Eric Christian Olsen, Barrett Foa, Renée Felice Smith and Miguel Ferrer.
The show was renewed for a seventh season last May 11, 2015. According to sources from VCPost, the "NCIS: L.A." production team has already completed the shooting the first few episodes of the new season.
