'NCIS' season 14 premiere spoilers: Gibbs looking for a female agent

After rehiring a seasoned agent, Agent Gibbs (Mark Harmon) is reportedly looking for another addition to the squad. This time around, he is searching for a female newbie who can learn the ropes easily in the upcoming season of "NCIS."
Recently, it was announced that Wilmer Valderrama would fill in the space left by Michael Weatherly in the long-running CBS series. The actor would be a series regular starting in the new installment. According to the teasers provided, his character has been working for the NCIS before he went AWOL in an undercover mission. Now that he is back, he is determined to prove to Gibbs and the others that he is still the same charismatic and skilled operative the agency used to know.
Valderrama took to Twitter to express his excitement over his new project.
"Thrilled to be joining @NCIS_CBS. We are gonna have some fun. And expect the unexpected. #NCIS @CBS hope you guys are ready," he wrote.
Meanwhile, HOF Mag reports that another agent is set to join the team and she is a female. Speculations point out to Sarah Clarke being promoted to a series regular after playing FBI agent Tess Monroe last season. The executive producers, however, have been keeping their cards close to their chest on this update. Fans should still wait for the official announcement on Clarke's status.
As for Duane Henry, who played MI-6 agent Clayton Reeves, it also remains unclear on what capacity he will return with in the show.
Meanwhile, fans of the series are currently rejoicing about the good news they received that the core cast will be intact not only for season 14, but in the next as well. Back in February, Harmon signed a two-year contract for "NCIS." According to Deadline, his other co-stars also decided to renew their contract. Pauley Perrette (who plays Abby Sciuto), Sean Murray (who plays Timothy McGee), Rocky Carroll (who plays Leon Vance) and David McCallum (who plays Ducky Mallard) are all set to appear in the series until 2018.
"NCIS" season 14 will premiere on Tuesday, Sept. 20 at 8 p.m. EST on CBS.
