'NCIS' season 13 news: special guest appearance from Jon Cryer
The production of the 13th season of the hit show "NCIS" is already underway and CBS, the network behind the show, recently released a teaser for the premiere.
The network recently rolled out the preview which reads:
"After being shot, Gibbs fights for his life aboard a Navy hospital ship, while DiNozzo and Joanna travel to Shanghai to try and take down the Calling. Jon Cryer guest stars as Gibbs' surgeon, Dr. Cyril Taft. Mimi Rogers returns as CIA Officer Joanna Teague."
According to the Examiner, the show has also released a couple of promotional pictures regarding the upcoming episode. Most of them are pictures of Gibbs lying in the foreground fighting for his life. "Two and a Half Men" star, Jon Cryer, will be playing the role of Dr. Cyril Taft, who is tasked to save Gibbs' life.
The cast members were not shy about posting behind the scenes shots as well. According to the Vine Report, Emily Wickersham recently posted a photo of Michael Weatherly with the caption, "back. Season 13". While Weatherly in turn, posted a selfie and captioned it, "Reading glasses required as the season 13 #NCIS premiere episode is digested... And my birthday hangover continues."
HNGN also reported that the new season will be more difficult for Gibbs, which, as a result, would hurt his relationship with the team.
Executive Producer, Gary Glasberg, sat down with TV Guide recently to talk about the upcoming season. He told the news outlet:
"There's issues that have to get worked out between team members, very specifically between Tony and Gibbs. ... It's tricky, and they're sensitive to what he's going through, and they're trying to be there for him as co-worker and as friend and as family member. They're being ultra-supportive of him."
"NCIS" is set for release on Sept. 22. The premiere episode of the upcoming season is aptly titled, "Stop the Bleeding."
