'NCIS' season 13 finale spoilers: The DiNozzo edge road to exit

Tony DiNozzo has begun to question his identity that could hint at the road he's travelling on toward exiting the show in the final episode of "NCIS" season 13, titled "Return to Sender."
As season 13 comes to a close, so does actor Michael Weatherly's departure from the show. In the recently aired episode 20, Tony was haunted by what two identity thieves had to say about him. After being told how boring his life is, he asks his friend and Special Agent Timothy McGee, "You'd tell me, right, if I was losing my edge, the Dinozzo edge? Because I feel like it … Sometimes I feel like I don't know who I am."
This brings to life speculations that Tony will retire from his work. Aside from looking for another job, fans are also looking forward to an unconfirmed appearance of actress Cote de Pablo as Tony's love interest Ziva David. A comment about his goldfish with the same name gaining weight is also speculated as pertaining to Ziva's pregnancy. This new life as a father is believed to make Tony decide to move on and get closer to his family.
Weatherly is not just a main cast in the show because he also happens to be one of the four main original characters of the series. The announcement of him leaving has saddened fans all over the world who have since then speculated on how his character would bid good-bye to the series.
However, viewers are happy knowing that his character won't be killed off in the show, which means he could still be a special guest in upcoming seasons. Incidentally, the scene showing Tony reaching some sort of crossroad in his life may be true to what Weatherly is also going through at this point in his career.
His decision to leave the show, reports say, is for him to work on other projects. The character and actor who is set to replace him is also expected to make an appearance in the last episode.
The season finale titled "Return to Sender" is set to air on Apr. 19, 8 p.m. on CBS.
