"NCIS" fans have been wondering how the show will wrap-up Anthony DiNozzo's storyline. With his ex-girlfriend Jeanne Benoit set to appear in another episode, viewers are wondering whether she will have anything to do with the Very Special Agent leaving his job.

Two familiar faces will be returning to "NCIS." According to a synopsis posted on Carter Matt for episode 16, Doctor Cyril Taft (Jon Cryer) will experience first-hand the excitement and intensity of an "NCIS" case after he is assigned to perform surgery on Gibb's (Mark Harmon) suspect. Evidence that the good doctor will find will reportedly be key to solving a crime. Meanwhile, Dinozzo (Michael Weatherly) has another case that involves doctors in Sudan, prompting him to once again meet up with his old flame Jeanne Benoit (Scottie Thompson).

The two recurring characters are the focus of the trailer for the upcoming episode, "Loose Cannons." The clip shows Dr. Taft arriving at "NCIS," but Gibbs doesn't seem too happy to see him. The surgeon is also shown helping Ducky (David McCallum) with a body. Jeanne Benoit returns and she and Tony share a tender moment where he admits that if he had one wish, he "would turn back the clock."

The episode promises to be another memorable one as fans get to see more of the two characters. Taft has quickly established a fan base for himself, with his cheery but no-nonsense approach to Gibbs and their ensuing friendship. And die-hard "NCIS" fans know how Tony was so in love with Jeanne and how difficult it was for him to let her go.

Aside from Ziva David (Cote de Pablo), Jeanne was the only other woman that the agent was really serious about. But will her appearing so close to the end of the season hint as to how the writers will deal with the character's departure? Some reports have theorized that the exes might rekindle their romance and Tony would leave the team for her.

Aside from Cryer and Thompson, Laura San Giacomo will also guest star as Dr. Grace Confalone, Taft's colleague. David Chisum will also reprise his role as Jeanne's husband David.

"NCIS" season 13 will air a new episode on Feb. 23.
