'NCIS' season 13 spoilers: when DiNozzo's ex-girlfriend Jeanne Benoit resurfaces, will they reconcile?
"NCIS" showrunners have long revealed that old faces will be returning in the show's 13th season. Fans have been very vocal about their hopes that Cote de Pablo would be back to reprise her role as Ziva David, but it appears that it's another one of Tony's ex-girlfriends who will be making an appearance.
According to TVLine, Scottie Thompson will be returning to the show as Jeanne Benoit and is set to appear in several episodes. Anthony DiNozzo's (Michael Weatherly) old flame will reportedly make her appearance in a November episode.
Fans will recall that the beautiful brunette was last seen way back in season 4 when DiNozzo went undercover to expose and take down her father – the notorious arms dealer Rene Benoit, who's also known as La Grenouille.
While Tony started out pretending, he eventually fell in love with Jeanne for real and even admitted his love for her after NCIS agent Paula Cassidy was killed. Tony and Jeanne's relationship was at a very serious stage when she discovered that Tony is really an NCIS agent. She broke up with him but not before leaving him a letter that told him to choose between his job and their love.
But when La Grenouille ended up murdered, Jeanne accused Tony of doing the deed. He was exonerated and when she asked him if their relationship was real, he told her no. They parted ways with Jeanne telling him she wished they never met.
His denial of their love was done to protect her, and fans would undoubtedly be wondering if the two are still harboring some deep-seated feelings for each other, particularly now that Tony has hit a rough patch with his girlfriend Zoe (Marisa Nichols).
There's no denying that Thompson's and Weatherly's characters look good together, and the two seem friendly in real life, as evidenced by Thompson's tweet.
Thompson has been busy recently, appearing in shows like "Castle," "Grey's Anatomy" and "The Blacklist."
As for fans who are still hoping for Ziva to appear, "NCIS" showrunner Gary Glasberg has already confirmed to TV Guide that that won't be happening this season.
"NCIS" season 13 will be back on Oct. 13 with its fourth episode, "Double Trouble."
