'NCIS: New Orleans' season 3 spoilers: show to move to a new time slot

Dwayne Pride's team's successful take down of a rogue Homeland Security agent might have ruffled a few feathers in Washington DC as the "NCIS: New Orleans" team is placed under the microscope in season 3.
The show's season 2 finale saw Sonja Percy (Shalita Grant) disarming a bomb that was intended to blow up the city's port, while Meredith Brody (Zoe McLellan) took down Homeland Security Agent John Russo (Ivan Sergei). As it turns out, the Homeland agent was anti-military, despite working for the government. While the team did a great job at closing the case and saving the city, Pride (Scott Bakula) and his team were all placed on administrative leave.
When the show returns for a third season, a special agent from DC will be headed to New Orleans to investigate Pride, Brody, Chris LaSalle (Lucas Black), and the rest of the team.
"Graceland" star Vanessa Ferlito has been tapped to play FBI Special Agent Garlan, an agent who left the Crescent City a decade ago. Described as a tough, sassy, by-the-book agent, Garlan was chosen to investigate the team because of her local know-how. Her mysterious past and her way of doing things will undoubtedly find her butting heads with Pride and the rest of the team.
In a statement, showrunner Brad Kern said that they're "beyond excited to have Vanessa join our show and look forward to adding her distinctive personality and edge to our amazing 'NCIS: New Orleans' cast."
Ferlito is no stranger to playing strong willed, government agents. The 35-year-old actress played Aiden Burn on "CSI: NY" and Charlie DeMarco in "Graceland." She will be joining the "NCIS: NOLA" cast as a series regular and her character is set to be introduced in the show's premiere episode.
Adding Ferlito isn't the only big change coming to New Orleans. The popular spin-off will also be moving to a new time slot when it returns. Powerhouse "NCIS" will retain its 8 p.m. time slot every Tuesday and will serve as a lead in to Michael Weatherly's new drama, "Bull," at 9 p.m., followed by "NCIS: New Orleans" at 10 p.m. All three shows will premiere on CBS on Sept. 20.
