'NCIS: New Orleans' premiere: Agent Meredith Brody sports a sassier hairdo; Annie Potts to make an appearance as mom
"NCIS" is one of the most popular TV franchises and has now even brought its success to New Orleans. "NCIS: New Orleans" is set to premiere really, really soon with a new character and a heartbreaking look at the past.
"NCIS: New Orleans" promises to dig deep into the characters and their backstories when it returns for season two. One of the backstories to be explored is Meredith Brody's (Zoe McLellan). That means, in the next season, she, and everyone else, will get to see her mother, played by Annie Potts.
Says the actress to Headlines & Global News of this new angle for her character, "Right now we're doing an episode with Annie Potts playing my mom which is amazing. I'm doing this mother daughter stuff with her and I'm like, 'Whoa, this is some loaded stuff here.' The mom stuff is really cool, really fun stuff."
But Potts won't be debuting in season two's pilot episode. She will instead be seen in a later episode and will bring out Agent Brody's long-buried emotions about her twin sister's death.
What will be in season two's initial episode, however, is Meredith's brand new hairdo, which is definitely sassier than last season's long-ish hair. McLellan is hoping this means more dates for her characters. And she just might get her wish as a young gentleman will be calling on the agent in one of the earlier episodes.
Another wish that the actress has for her "NCIS" agent character is a rendezvous with ex-fiancé, James Lathom (Luke Mably). She says she wants to see more angles and more scenes of their unconventional relationship. She adds that being tied to their own jobs yet loving each other is something that viewers can totally relate to.
"NCIS: New Orleans" is back for season two on CBS this Sept. 22.
