On the next episode of "NCIS: LA," Sam and Callen join the firefighters as they investigate a case. Season 7 episode 23 is titled "Where There's Smoke" and will feature the team going against suspected terrorists.

CBS shares the synopsis for the upcoming episode and it says, "Sam and Callen go undercover as firefighters when top secret information about suspected terrorists is stolen from a secure Department of Defense container at the site of a fire on 'When There's Smoke…'"

The trailer teases of a 5-alarm case and starts off with a light scene showing Sam, Callen, Kensi, and Marty discussing who should go undercover in the case they are working on. Sam asks Marty, "You think you could be a firefighter?" Kensi answers for her man and says "He just thinks he'll look good in a counter."

Sam and Callen are seen suited up to work among the firemen, while Eric and Nell go over footages from the crime scene. As the camera closes in on a firefighter, Eric teases the obviously smitten Nell, "You have a thing for firefighters."

Season 7 has two more episodes left and another season for the series has been confirmed last month. Although the teaser contains bantering among the characters, intense events are expected as the cliffhanger nears.

Throughout its run, fans of the show have witnessed the team working on different cases. Callen hints at the complicated case they are facing as he enumerates "arson, murder and espionage" to a colleague. In the middle of a fight against fire, Sam tells Callen to "watch your back."

The finale's title has already been released, as well as its synopsis. Sam's son, Aiden, will be in danger in the episode titled "Tailon." An enemy from Sam's past Tahir will take over Aiden's military school. Tahir is an Al-Qaeda-affiliated fundamentalist and his sister was once involved with Sam so a personal vendetta will be in the works.
