'NASCAR '16' release date rumors: Game might be delayed
"NASCAR '16" is rumored to have been delayed from the targeted release date. No exact confirmation has been given if it is true because the only information available at the moment is the statement of Ed Martin, president of Dusenberry Martin Racing, wherein he says that it is coming to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC and more announcements will be made in the middle of the year.
"As we enter 2016 we've got a lot of exciting projects in the works. Our next console game is sure to be a hit. The developer working on the game has an outstanding history with the NASCAR franchise. That's all I'll say for now, but stay tuned for more information coming mid-next year. I can also confirm a new NASCAR mobile racing game will be starting development very soon for smart phones and tablets."
This means very little information to gamers and NASCAR fans. No trailer, teaser, or even poster was released. Fans and gamers are left guessing when or if the game will ever come out. The upcoming E3 might be a sign of a potential reveal of the game, but nothing is set in stone. According to CrossMap, the game franchise has went through several developers in the past where it began with EA Sports then Papyrus, followed by Eutechnyx and Activision, and finally now with DMi (Dusenberry Martin Racing).
Hopefully, the game delivers on expectations so that this long wait in the shadows is worth it. Some fans are also starting to speculate that the game might be VR capable since VR gear is beginning to be a hot topic in the gaming industry.
With this, developers must release any news or conifrmation that can appease the waiting fans that the project is still in the works and not dead in the water.
