Episode 453 of "Naruto Shippuden" just recently aired and the Itachi Shinden arc was further explored. Fans awaited with bated breath for the events that would transpire. Here is a recap of the episode, titled "The Pain Living."

The latest episode continued on with the story arc involving the Itachi Shinden. It was a particularly difficult episode for Itachi, mainly because of what he had to go through. Itachi found out the true meaning of friendship and the feeling of losing someone he cared deeply about. The worst part is that he had to witness it with his own two eyes.

Itachi's father, Fugako Uchiha, was still fighting for their right as a member of the Hidden Leaf noble families. This took place three years after moving to Konoha. Itachi's father wasn't at all discouraged and kept on with their plight. Thankfully, because of Itachi's positive attitude and outlook, his father's temperament and rebelliousness were kept at bay.

Meanwhile, Izumi Uchiha, Itachi's childhood sweetheart, gave Itachi some dumplings as a way of congratulating him for his early graduation from the Academy. Itachi took it with delight and it was apparent that he had a hankering for the savory treats.

Given the task of looking for a lost Ninja cat, Itachi found out the meaning of friendship and what it means to be surrounded and helped by friends. Along with his teammates, Itachi looked for the Ninja cat. Because of their age difference (due to Itachi graduating ahead of his time), tension brewed among them. But after finding the Ninja cat, his teammates gained a newfound respect for the young Itachi and they became friends.

Things did not end on a good note, however, as the episode closed with a heartbreaking loss. Itachi's teammates were killed by Obito, which prompted Itachi's Sharingan to activate.

Episode 454 of "Naruto Shippuden" will focus more on Shisui's character and his relationship with Itachi. The episode will be titled "Shisui's Request."
