Production for the third season of "Narcos" is well underway and fans are looking forward to the new faces who will take over after the notorious Pablo Escobar's passing.

Rumor has it that new faces will grace "Narcos" season 3 in hopes of replacing the storyline that Wagner Moura's Pablo left behind. Pablo's fall had to come, but despite his loss, the Colombian drug trade will continue as the Cali Cartel picks up from the ruins of Pablo's Medellin Cartel.

It is widely speculated that new characters will be taking over the series, now that the biggest character will no longer return to the small screens. The new characters include Andrea Londo, who will play the role of Maria, a Colombian beauty queen; and Nicholas Gonzalez, who will be a DEA agent believed to be Javier Pena's (Pedro Pascal) new ally.

Michael Stahl-David will also join "Narcos" season 3 as Chris Feistl, another DEA agent who will be sent to Colombia to look into the movements of the Cali Cartel. Matt Whelan will play Daniel Van Ness, who will be Chris' partner while at work in Colombia.

There's also Kerry Bishé, who will be playing the role of Christina. Among the new faces added into the "Narcos" season 3 cast, Christina is the most intriguing as she is rumored to be potentially involved in the Cali Cartel's fall. Christina is married to a Colombian man but will soon get help from the U.S. Embassy for fear of her family's safety after discovering that her husband is deeply involved with the drug trade.

Other rumors suggest that the upcoming installment of the hit series will also shed some light on the Mexican drug trade. It is expected that the show will also feature the Sinaloa Cartel and the Jalisco New Generation Cartel, the two drug rings which were mortal enemies after Pablo passed away.

Netflix has yet to announce an official premiere date for "Narcos" season 3 but some speculate that the show will return sometime August or September 2017.
