Microsoft Lumia 850 release date: renders show different colored models
It has only been a few months since Microsoft released the Lumia 950 XL and Lumia 950 but rumors about a follow up device are already arriving. These rumors have hinted that the software major has a cheaper smartphone in the works that goes by the name of Lumia 850 Honjo.
Earlier rumors about the Lumia 850 included a render of the device in white color. However, the most recent rumor which was picked up by GSMArena originated from a Chinese website and showed the device in white with gold and also another version with a pink frame. Additionally there was a black model seen in the leaked render which was seen with a light copper colored frame and another with a steel colored frame. The white model with the gold frame and gold detailing on its back, has however been described as the best looking among those that have been featured in renders.
There have been a number of rumors about the Microsoft Lumia 850 which is widely thought to be a mid range device compared to the Lumia 950 XL and Lumia 950. However, the major difference seen so far in the leaked renders is that the device has a bit of metal on its body. Another detail that has been noticed is the presence of front facing flash or an infrared scanner.
Coming to the hardware onboard, the Microsoft Lumia 850 is expected to come with a Snapdragon 617 chipset and not the latest Snapdragon 810 or even the Snapdragon 820. Coupled along with the chipset will be an octa-core CPU and an Adreno 405 GPU. As for its display size it is expected to be 5.7 inch version with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels.
Finally, since the Microsoft Lumia 850 has started appearing in rumors, many industry pundits are of the opinion that the device could be released or it could just die a natural death before ever making its way to the market.
