Microsoft Surface Phone rumors: New device could end up being a business-first smartphone
Whenever Microsoft does decide to launch their Surface Phone, one of the challenges they will face is related to establishing a market for it, though rumors have hinted that the technology giant may already have an idea of what needs to be done.
Specifically, when this new device does come out, people can apparently count on it being a kind of niche offering, though that niche should still be pretty well-populated.
Earlier this year, a report from ZDNet mentioned that Microsoft's rumored offering will be "focused on the business market."
Since then, even if rumors about the device's specs and release date have been all over the map at times, the same business-focused design continues to be linked to the Surface Phone.
More recent rumors have even hinted that this particular business-oriented approach to the creation of the new smartphone could have an impact on its eventual price.
If the new Microsoft smartphone does end up getting made with professionals in mind, then its price tag could reflect that, and it could turn out to be higher in relation to other devices on the market, according to a recent report from PC-Tablet.
Going down this route could prove to be a smart move for Microsoft as they attempt to jumpstart their smartphone division, but it's still unclear exactly when they may decide to finally show off their new flagship device.
With Microsoft now expected to make an appearance at the Mobile World Congress, rumors have hinted that perhaps that late-February event could be the launching pad for the new smartphone.
Still, that MWC launch is far from guaranteed, and a recent report from Nokia Power User noted that the phone may come out later in 2017 as opposed to sometime in February or March.
Hopefully for those looking for the new flagship device, Microsoft will clear things up sooner than later, and exactly what the Surface Phone can do will soon be known.
