Michael Schumacher recovery update: Manager of F1 legend asks public to continue hoping for the best for his recovery

Despite the news blackout on the current health condition of Michael Schumacher, Sabine Kehm, the German racing superstar's manager, insists that hope is not lost for the F1 legend who figured in a skiing accident in 2013.

Kehm asked the public to keep hoping for the best for Schumacher's health as she received the Lifetime Achievement Award handed by Nurburgring on behalf of Schumacher for the multiple grand prix champion on Friday last week.

"This award is an acknowledgement of his great willpower, his motivation, his talent, his discipline and his work ethic... I realize we would all like it if Michael himself could be here, but unfortunately that is not possible... we have to accept it and learn to deal with it. We will continue to hope and do everything so that it will be different again," Kehm said.

It can be recalled that, earlier this year, Schumacher's camp defended their non-issuance of updates on the condition of the F1 legendary racer. According to Kehm back then, not divulging any information on the health of Schumacher was the only option they had as answering one question could lead to another.

For Kehm, it would be impossible to answer the questions with a few sentences and stressed that she was certain Schumacher would want his privacy respected if only he could talk.

"Michael's private life was sacred to him even before the accident," Kehm said.

In April last year, Express reported that Schumacher still couldn't walk nor talk and had very limited awareness of the people around him, and that there was nothing that could assure that he would be back to normal as far as his health was concerned.

Meanwhile, Schumacher's son, Michael, Jr., recently bagged two wins in just a day during the Formula 4 meetings in Germany. Schumacher Jr. claimed the victory in the first race, which included a mass pile-up involving 11 cars on the first lap. He snagged another victory for that day when he won in the evening race.
