Earlier this year, news about the "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." spin-off had been put on hold, as ABC previously thought that leaving Mockingbird and Hunter on "AoS" was the right thing to do, considering the presence the show has been giving the past few seasons.

However, it seems like that is going to change as "Marvel's Most Wanted" is now in the development phase.

Last May, ABC President, Paul Lee, explained why they had to hit the pause button on the spin-off. "We absolutely love those characters on S.H.I.E.L.D. We think S.H.I.E.L.D. hit its creative stride this year," the ABC president said via Entertainment Weekly. "We thought the right thing now is to leave them on S.H.I.E.L.D., because S.H.I.E.L.D. is so strong on the moment."

Now, in the exclusive report by Variety, it appears that there has been some change of plans with the new show that will star Barbara "Mockingbird" Morse (played by Adrianne Palicki) and Lance Hunter (Nick Blood).

According to Variety, the new show is not really going to be a spin-off. Instead, "Marvel's Most Wanted" is said to be a whole new project which will focus on Morse and Hunter's life as an ex-married couple, as well as on how their adventure will continue.

Unfortunately, nothing much has been said about how the real story will go or about the other actors who will also appear on the next Marvel project. What has been confirmed, however, as mentioned in Variety, is that "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." producers, Jeffrey Bell and Paul Zbyszewski, who co-created "Marvel's Most Wanted," will also act as showrunners, as well as executive producers, alongside Marvel's Head of Television, Jeph Loeb.

There is still no word regarding the premiere date of "Marvel's Most Wanted" but "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D" will return to ABC on Sept. 29, 2015 for season three.
