Following the culmination of three couples' extreme social experiment, the reunion episode "Married at First Sight: Six Months Later" revealed very interesting results, specifically for Sam Role and Neil Bowlus. Now that some time has passed, both Sam and Neil have been able to look back at their experiences and how their decisions have affected their lives.

Sam spoke to US Weekly to talk about his decision to divorce Sam. He explained that it was not an easy decision and that he was conflicted up until Decision Day.

"I felt I was missing the ability to create a more deeper, more intimate relationship. The first four weeks left an impression greater than I was aware of, and it prevented me from building anything more than friendship... Nobody is at fault — it's just the way things happened. We learn, grow and move on," Neil told US Weekly.

Neil wishes that he could do a few things differently, like being more open to Sam about his decision. During Decision Day, Sam was surprised and heartbroken when he asked for divorce. However, ultimately, he is resolute in his decision.

"After six months of discussing the events of 'Married at First Sight' with professionals, I am in a comfortable place, and I appreciate and value our friendship. If I have learned one thing, it is yes, I will miss some things [from our time together]," he added.

Despite the harsh ending to their marriage, Sam and Neil are able to remain friends after their "Married at First Sight" experience. However, according to Sam, the raw emotions that came up during the "Six Months Later" reunion episode have been hard to deal with and that they haven't spoken since then. Nevertheless, Sam still hopes to give their relationship another try.

"I don't give up hope. I don't think divorce is the answer. I can even say that now. I don't feel like divorce is fair at this point for either of us, because it's not enough time to live under normal circumstances. So I'm trying to continue to give things a chance and be there for him," she told The Knot.

Sam hopes that in the next few months, she will be able to talk to Neil and convince him to give their relationship another shot.
