'Marco Polo' season 3 air date, plot rumors, news: Hundred Eyes to take the spotlight?
Following the events that occurred in "Marco Polo" season two, fans are now looking forward to learning how the story will pick up when the series returns for its third installment. Amid rumors of cancellation, there are reports suggesting that the show will now focus on the story of Hundred Eyes.
Tom Wu's Hundred Eyes is undeniably one of the most prominent characters in the Netflix original series, probably even more famous than Lorenzo Richelmy's Marco. It is worth noting that even as a blinded monk, Kublai Khan (Benedict Wong) still trusts him a lot due to his skill in the use of swords.
Hundred Eyes also happens to be Marco Polo's master and trainer. In the beginning of the series, it was depicted how he trained Marco to become an amazing swordsman. It is now speculated that "Marco Polo" season three will shine the spotlight on Hundred Eyes and his extreme loyalty to the Mongol leader.
For starters, Kublai Khan captured Hundred Eyes and forced him to become a trainer of his men after he noticed how skilled Hundred Eyes is in combat. After attempting to escape and killing one of Khan's men in the process, the Mongol dictator blinded him and gave him an ultimatum. He understands that being the new Mongol Khanate Minister of Martial Affairs is his fate and he can no longer try to escape it.
Probably one of the reasons why rumors emerged about Hundred Eyes being the center of "Marco Polo" season three is due to series creator John Fusco's continuous posting of the character's photos on his Twitter account.

He has also been retweeting some fan posts about the bond between Hundred Eyes and Michelle Yeoh's Lotus. Will more of their story be told in the upcoming installment? Only Netflix can tell for now but it would be a very interesting arc if their roots and exact connections are depicted soon.
