Elizabeth must bring the person responsible for the terrorist bombing to justice in the upcoming episode 6, titled "The Statement," of the third season of the American political drama "Madam Secretary."

In the aftermath of a terrorist bombing at an Illinois coffee shop, Elizabeth learns that the funds used for the deadly attack was from someone who has close ties to the Saudi Government. Determined to bring the person responsible to justice, she tries to do a riskier move, despite the Saudi ambassador's initial refusal to cooperate.

Matt (Geoffrey Arend), on the other hand, chooses not to issue a statement even though he is publicly suspected to be connected to the bomber. Meanwhile, Henry (Tim Daly) decides to check on Dmitri (Chris Petrovski) after learning that the latter is struggling to fit into his new life in Phoenix.

The promo trailer for the upcoming "Madam Secretary" season 3 episode "The Statement" shows Matt venting his disappointments to the Secretary of State and the rest of the team following the terrorist bombings. He tells the team that when an Islamic extremist commits an atrocity, every Muslim is implicated.

Although it seems like Matt just wants to keep silent about it, Russell (Željko Ivanek) explains to him that silence may be interpreted by the public as a form of support. After Matt's name gets dragged into the bombings, he seems to be getting hostile reception by the people around him, which alarms Elizabeth even more. She decides to take a stand and defends one of her own.

Meanwhile, the previous episode, titled "The French Revolution," saw a CIA operative being captured by French intelligence. Although Elizabeth had to make sure that the US-France state dinner must go according to plan, she was also negotiating the release of the operative at the same time.

"Madam Secretary" season 3 airs Sundays at 9 p.m. on CBS.
