'Mad Max: Fury Road' movie news: director Quentin Tarantino praises 'terrific' film

It's that time of the year again when people, both famous and not, list down their Top 10's for the year; whether it's music, movies, or even games. Director Quentin Tarantino, however, only mentioned one particular film that he found amazing for 2015 and it is "Mad Max: Fury Road," directed by George Miller.
This was revealed during Tarantino's interview with Premiere during the French premiere of his upcoming movie "The Hateful Eight."
He said, "It would have to be the Mad Max movie, Fury Road. ... I got a print of Mad Max on 35mm and I watched it in my house, and I had it all weekend and I ended up watching it three different times."
The director then recalled his initial negative views for the film when he found out that Mel Gibson, the actor who played as the protagonist in the first movie that was released in 1979, was not included.
He said, "And I resisted seeing it for a while because I was like, 'Mad Max without Mel Gibson? Forget that!' In a world where Mel Gibson exists, how can you cast Tom Hardy?"
However, after seeing it, Tarantino admitted that casting Hardy in the film was actually a good idea.
"Then I saw the movie and, 'Okay, it's terrific,' and he's pretty good in it, I have to admit, he's pretty good," he said.
Tarantino's comment about the film is not that much of a surprise considering that the rating of the movie is at 97 percent on Rotten Tomatoes and 89 percent on Meta Critic.
"Mad Max: Fury Road" was first released in theaters on May 15 while Tarantino's movie, "The Hateful Eight," is due for a theatrical release on Jan. 1, 2016, in the U.S.
