'Longmire' season 6 spoilers, news, updates: Walt-Donna breakup opened doors for Walt-Vic romance?

(Facebook/Longmire)Will Walt find true love in 'Longmire' season 6?

Despite the sadness that fans felt when Netflix announced that "Longmire" season 6 will be the last installment of the series, viewers are also excited over the path that Walt will take now that he will be wrapping up his story.

One of the biggest questions that fans are expecting an answer to concerns the Walt-Vic romance that has been going around online ever since the show started airing. A lot of fans have been rooting for Walt (Robert Taylor) and Vic (Katee Sackhoff) to fall in love with each other but "Longmire" has not yet allowed for such development.

While Vic has dropped hints that she may have been developing feelings for Walt over the past years, it appeared in the previous seasons that Walt may not be interested in having a romantic relationship with her. Adding to that is the fact that Walt was romantically involved with someone else and this could have pulled him further away from Vic.

However, there are speculations saying the Walt-Vic romance could happen in "Longmire" season 6. In the previous installment, Walt called it quits with his then-girlfriend Donna (Ally Walker). Some are speculating that the breakup might have opened doors for Walt and Vic to finally have something more special than friendship and work-related concerns.

In Craig Johnson's "Walt Longmire Mysteries" series, Walt and Vic did find love in each other in the end. However, Netflix has yet to confirm if the same plot will be applied for the upcoming season.

Meanwhile, Carter Matt points out that "Longmire" season 6 should at least highlight a romantic future for Walt, whether it's with Vic or another woman. The outlet goes on to say that while Walt isn't someone who can easily express his feelings and say his mind when it comes to his emotions, he still deserves to have someone by his side. Will Walt finally find a love that lasts?

"Longmire" season 6 is slated for release sometime in fall 2017 on Netflix.
