'Longmire' season 6 air date, spoilers: Next installment to premiere in 2017?
Netflix recently released the fifth season of "Longmire," but fans are now wondering if the streaming giant will be so kind as to renew the series for another season. Right now, no one can be sure of the show's fate, but if it does get a sixth season order, it is likely that it will premiere sometime in the fall of 2017.
Since Netflix has a fairly steady release schedule, reports believe that a fall 2017 premiere is a safe bet for "Longmire" season 6. However, the entertainment company has yet to speak out on its intentions on the future of the Wyoming-set series.
However, according to reports, both Robert Taylor, who stars as the titular Walt Longmire, and writer Craig Johnson have said that a renewal is definitely in the cards. It can be recalled that "Longmire" first premiered on A&E and was subsequently canceled after its fourth season. It then rose from the ashes when Netflix picked it up for a full fifth season. It remains to be seen, though, if Netflix has enough faith in the series to let it continue. It should also be noted that Netflix has surprisingly canceled promising shows in the past.
Fans should not worry, though, because nothing has been set in stone. Regardless, there is a high chance that the series will get the green light for a new season since the series has had a streak of positive reviews and a relatively sizable fanbase.
But what will season 6 have in store for viewers? It is believed that Walt Longmire will continue to solve cases as the sheriff of Absaroka. Moreover, romance may be in the air for Walt and deputy sheriff Vic (Katee Sackhoff). The next installment is also expected to show Vic's pregnancy.
Since everything is up in the air at the moment, fans should take this news with a grain of salt.
