LG G Flex 3 release date: curved smartphone with modules arriving during IFA?

(www.lg.com)LG G Flex 3 the follow up version of the "LG G Flex 2" is expected to arrive this year

Earlier this year, there were rumors that LG was planning a follow-up to the LG G Flex 2 which released last year. However, the company instead chose to concentrate on the LG G5, which has gotten a positive reception from analysts. But now, it appears that there is also a LG G Flex 3 in the works and it will have modular accessories.

More importantly, the LG G Flex 3 is going to be a curved device, much like its predecessor. Reporting on the arrival of the device, PhonesSpot states that the curve from the top to the bottom is going to be a main feature of the upcoming LG G Flex 3. It is also going to have the ability to support modules like those created for the LG G5. However, it is not clear how the modules for the LG G5, which are designed for a metal body, will be used on the LG G Flex 3, which will need to have a plastic body to accommodate the curve.

Also, the curve on the LG G Flex 3 is expected to extend to the screen, similar to its predecessor, and modules will have to fit snugly when they are snapped on. On the LG G5, there is a Magic Slot on the bottom, while the Moto Z Style and the Moto Z Play are expected to come with modules that snap onto sixteen holes at the devices' rear.

As for the release of the LG G Flex 3, it is expected to take place during IFA 2016, which is scheduled to happen between September 2-7 of this year. Coming to the processor on the device, it is thought to be the latest Snapdragon 820 and RAM is expected to be around 4GB. Display size is also rumored to be around 5.5 inches and two cameras are thought to be positioned at the rear, much like the LG G5.
