Lenovo Yoga Book release date, specs: 2-in-1 tablet packs full HD screen, halo keyboard
Lenovo recently unveiled its Yoga Book for all to see. And while it certainly took them a long time to develop, it looks like all their work has paid off as the tablet is grabbing headlines left and right.
The Yoga Book is described as a 2-in-1 tablet consisting of two main panels. The first one features a screen measuring 10.1 inches and boasts a full HD display. The second one is a flat surface where users can utilize the "halo" keyboard. What makes this keyboard unique is that it is fully integrated with the panel, requiring no buttons or keys.
According to USA Today, the keyboard is drawn using a white outline and adopts artificial intelligence. Over prolonged use, the keyboard will be able to predict what the user will type next.
But this does not mean that the panel can only be used for typing purposes. The keyboard actually disappears when it is not needed. Taking its place is a plain surface that users can literally draw on using a stylus pen. This pen comes with actual ink. Users can place a piece of paper on top of the panel and then proceed to draw or write with the stylus as normal. Whatever the user draws or writes will appear on screen in real time.
Making use of this halo keyboard made it easier for Lenovo to make the Yoga Book a lot slimmer compared to other products. The two panels can be folded against each other as they are attached together with a hinge.
It is certainly an innovative product, which is why Matt Lazare, a Lenovo campaign manager for the tablet, thinks that it won't take a long time before their competitors start following suit.
"We know we're bringing together a product that's going to hit and we wouldn't be surprised to see our competitors do something similar in the near future; but we were first," Lazare told Tech Radar.
