'Law & Order: SVU' Season 16 Episode 22 spoilers: 'Parent's nightmare' ses abduction fraud case, Noah's adoption and Johnny D's trial
"Law & Order: SVU" is just one week away from airing its current season's final episode. This week, fans of the hit crime series will see a little boy being kidnapped by a known abductor.
In "Parent's Nightmare", Spoilersguide reports that an 8-year-old boy named Owen Farhidi disappears from school and his mother Dana receives a ransom request. The panicky mother is assisted by the Special Victims Unit who scramble to catch the abductor. However, surveillance footage reveals that Owen recognizes his abductor, which means that the kidnapper is someone known to the child and his family.
Detective Amaro works alongside Dana and her ex-husband Sam to find and arrest the suspect, but things are never as simple as they seem. Tensions soar between the warring couple, hampering the investigation and making it problematic for Olivia Benson's team to make an arrest.
Design & Trend speculates that one of the parents, most likely the mother, may be behind the abduction fraud. Could Owen's mother really be behind the so-called kidnapping? Can the former couple set aside their differences and catch the culprit?
Meanwhile, Sergeant Olivia Benson will be asked to take the lieutenant's exam in order to formally take the lead over her squad. Fans of "Law & Order: SVU" know that Benson more or less leads the squad informally and the exam is just a formality.
TVGuide reports that, although Benson does become a lieutenant, she will be asked to hire a number two. This causes tensions as her possible number two becomes the hot topic of conversation in the beginning of the finale. Moreover, the final moments of season 16 will deal with Noah's adoption and his father Johnny D's trial. Showrunner Warren Leight promises no cliffhangers as the season ties all loose ends.
"Parent's Nightmare" airs on Wednesday at 9 p.m. EST on NBC.
