"Law & Order: SVU" has never been afraid to showcase topics taken straight from the headlines, and it's doing so again in episode 15 of the show's 17th season.

A synopsis for the upcoming episode, titled "Collateral Damages," has the SVU taking down an online pedophile ring. While their undercover bust resulted in the arrest of two high-profile suspects, it also led to some shocking discoveries within the team.

The trailer for episode 15 gave a hint to the fallout that awaits Lieutenant Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay) and her team. The clip starts with the SVU team raiding a house and breaking down the door. One scene shows the press pushing forward and shouting questions to an unknown woman. One reporter asks if the woman's husband is a pedophile.

The police are shown processing the scene while a voice reveals that the shocking case "leads back to the SVU." That much is clear when Detective Amanda Rollins (Kelli Giddish) is shown looking shocked as she checks a computer. Benson asks if "there's something I need to know?" while Fin (Ice-T) and a room full of police officers and reporters look grimly at someone. The clip ends with Carisi (Peter Scanavino) accusing someone he or she is "distributing child pornography."

The accusation towards the end gives viewers a better understanding as to why this case seems to have the SVU team concerned as crimes against children are unforgivable, more so if the person involved is in a position of authority.

While longtime viewers of "Law & Order" have no idea who the suspect is, they might have an inkling as to what, or who, inspired the episode. Design & Trend has even posited that the show might be addressing the Jared Fogle case.

Fogle, who rose to fame as Subway's spokeman, was sentenced to more than 15 years in prison in 2015 after pleading guilty to having sex with minors and receiving child pornography.

Episode 15 of "Law & Order: SVU" season 17 is set to air on Feb. 17.
