Everyone knows Kobe Bryant as a basketball legend. Having just retired from the sport, the Black Mamba reportedly has a net worth of $360 million.

Bryant spent 20 seasons with the Los Angeles Lakers, which is already a record, and even has an entire day dedicated to him. The 24th of August has officially been declared "Kobe Bryant Day" in the city of Los Angeles.

But for Bryant, that's not all he wants to be known for. He recently partnered up with Jeff Stibel and introduced a $100 million venture capital fund. According to The Wall Street Journal, Bryant wants to seek out technology, media, and data companies to invest in.

With a current salary of $50 million and a venture capital fund to his name, expect Bryant's net worth to grow even more in the future. The basketball star has been listed as one of Forbes' Highest-Paid Celebrities in the world, coming in at the 43rd spot. His $50 million fortune of a salary is divided right down the middle, with $25 million coming from his salary and winnings, while the other half coming from his endorsements.

His career as a venture capitalist is only beginning. In 2014, Bryant invested in sports drink company BodyArmor. More recently, he became an investor to The Players' Tribune, a media platform founded by Derek Jeter.

Apart from that, there are plenty of other companies that Bryant has put his trust in. And he did not do it alone — Stibel has been working with him since 2013. But now that Bryant's schedule has cleared up more because of him hanging his sneakers for good, it seems the best time to officially form a venture capital firm.

His net worth of $360 million, according to Gazette Review, was a direct result of his career as a basketball player. After high school, Bryant immediately went for the NBA and honed his skills. One thing led to another and he eventually became one of the greatest basketball players in history.
