"John Wick" fans were ecstatic when they found out that a sequel to the action thriller is in the works. The film has reportedly wrapped up filming in New York and is set to move to Italy. Plus, a mini "Matrix" reunion happened on the set of the film.

"Matrix" fans will undoubtedly be happy with the news that Neo and Morpheus are back together, as Laurence Fishburne was recently seen shooting scenes with Keanu Reeves. The Gothamist posted several photos of the two on the set, showing the two apparently enjoying themselves. Fishburne's under-the-radar appearance in the film suggests that he will appear in a cameo. But for most fans, even a cameo is enough as long as it means that the two will be together in one movie again.

There's a good chance that Fishburne felt right at home on the set of "John Wick" as it seems to be populated with the same people that he worked with on "The Matrix" trilogy. "John Wick 2's" director, Chad Stahelski, was originally Reeves' stunt double on "The Matrix" and worked on the sequels as stunt coordinator. On the other hand, "John Wick" co-director David Leitch also did some stunt work on both "The Matrix Reloaded" and "The Matrix Revolutions."

"John Wick 2's" plot and characters are tightly guarded secrets, so no one can tell what role Fishburne has in the sequel. Reeves mentioned in a Collider interview that the movie will revolve around how John, the widower, finds his life disrupted once more by his past as an assassin.

"In this, John Wick's past comes and infiltrates John's life and John Wick, in a way, has to fight for John," Reeves explained.

However, it has been reported that Common will be playing the film's big bad. Peter Stormare and "Orange is the New Black" alum Ruby Rose are reportedly onboard as well. Bridget Moynahan, John Leguizamo and Ian McShane are also set to reprise their roles.

Production for "John Wick 2" has reportedly already wrapped up in New York. Now, the cast and crew are enjoying a short break before moving to Italy to resume filming.
