Following the end of her battle with cancer, it has been confirmed that Joey Feek will be laid to rest in a private service at the cemetery of the Feek family.

According to the Owens Memorial Services website, the 40-year-old singer's life and memories will be celebrated with the family through a private and "intimate" service, confirming her husband's account in November on his blog that Joey already laid out her wishes for the said final ceremonies.

In the said blog post last year, the other half of "Joey Rory," Rory Feek, wrote about his wife's final wishes. "And find a good spot in the family cemetery in the field behind our house, where we put your mama's ashes last year...with room enough beside my headstone for you to join me someday...in God's time," the post reads.

On Sunday, Rory also shared a photo of blue skies and green fields. The 49-year-old country crooner captioned the photo, "...making plans that I hoped we would never have to make." Some men stand by a low fence where trees are all over the place. A horse, believed to be Joey's, also stands in the background.

Rory said his wife passed away in the afternoon on Friday, March 4. Joey had been battling cervical cancer and even went through surgery to get rid of the disease. However, the battle seemed to tough on her, and in October of last year, the couple announced Joey's decision to stop treatment. She was then moved to hospice care and since then stayed with her immediate relatives until she went "home" on Friday.

On Saturday, Rory also took time to give fans a look inside his first day without Joey. He said he was back home in their Tennessee farm with Indiana, who recently celebrated her second birthday with Joey still around.

The couple is known for releasing eight albums and for being nominated in the Best Country Duo/Group Performance category for their version of "If I Need You" during this year's Grammy Awards.
