Joey and Rory Feek news: 'Hymns' album from country and blue grass duo tops country chart; Rory continues to focus on happy times
Joey Feek stayed humble in the face of musical triumph as their country album with his wife Rory Feek titled "Hymns That Are Important to Us" topped the Billboard Country Album charts.
The country and blue grass duo, collectively known as Joey Rory, topped the charts last week with their highest ranking debut under Gaither Music Group, according to Billboard.
"When the label called to give us the news I immediately took the phone in to Joey," Rory revealed via ET Online.
"This recording was 'hers' from the beginning. This is one that she has always wanted to make, and she's worked so hard to make it happen, in spite of the difficult circumstances she is facing," he added.
The highly-optimistic 49-year-old Rory, after congratulating his wife, was then rendered in return by a tearful Joey as she set it right by explaining to her partner that their final album was eventually "God's record."
Their most recent effort proved to be the career milestone for Joey Rory as the album moved a total sales of 68,000 units. "Hymns That Are Important to Us" also carved a debut No. 4 spot for the Billboard 200 and was placed on top of the pedestal at No. 1 for the Top Christian Albums, according to Nielsen Soundscan via CMT News.
Joey Rory had their first top 10 album in 2010 with the their sophomore release aptly titled "Album Number Two" under the Vanguard/Sugar Hill Records label.
The country music couple who in sickness and in health have constantly remained in the public's concern when Joey was stricken with cervical cancer last June 2014 following the birth of their daughter, Indiana.
Rory's battle with cancer is reportedly turning for the worse. However, she and Joey have set their sights on reminiscing the journey they have both made together as a couple in this lifetime.
