Jeremy Lin news: NBA star's new spiky hair seen at Charlotte Hornets' media day
The famous Asian-American basketball star, Jeremy Lin, also known as "Linsanity," is now playing for the Charlotte Hornets and during the media day of the team, Lin was spotted on the floor with a brand new hairdo.
The photo was first posted online by Steve Reed of Associated Press on Twitter. In his post, Lin, Charlotte Hornets' Guard, can be seen sporting a brand new hairdo that made many basketball fans and Anime fans alike shocked.
As reported by At The Hive, Lin's new hairdo is somewhat similar to the characters in the famous Japanese Animation series, "Dragon Ball Z." Though that is actually a good comparison, some fans prefer to compare the NBA star's new look to Akira Sendoh of Team Ryonan in the popular basketball Anime, "Slam Dunk."
Lin even made a joke about his hairstyle during his interview with the Charlotte Observer last week. The 5-year NBA veteran said that his height has actually increased by 3 inches because of his hair. He also dished on how he styles his hair and revealed that in order to make his hair stand, he has to use a lot of hair gel.
"Yeah, this hair is making me a solid 6-foot-6 right now," he said. "I can barely get it to stick up this high when it's so long, but it's just something I'm doing. It's a lot of hair gel – more than I want to use, really. It's a work in progress," he said.
News about Lin coming to the Charlotte Hornets was first revealed to the media last July 2015, according to the report by ESPN. Lin's previous teams before coming to the Hornets were Golden State Warriors from the 2010 – 2011 season, New York Knicks 2011 – 2012, Houston Rockets 2012 – 2014 and Los Angeles Lakers 2014 – 2015.
