Following the heart-stopping finale of "Jane the Virgin" season two, fans are now speculating that Michael may be dead when the third season arrives, especially after Brett Dier talked about a new project he is working on.

In a recent interview with the Inquirer, Dier, who plays Michael, revealed that he is working on something else aside from "Jane the Virgin." "I'm working on a pilot called 'Hiatus' - it's about me. It's a comedy show about what my life is about when I'm on hiatus from acting. I hope people will find it funny - and I hope it gets picked up by the networks," he explained.

Movie News Guide suggests that Dier might have actually dropped a hint regarding his character's fate on the show. As fans know, Michael was shot previously and his recovery remains hanging on the balance. Could Dier's words have meant that Michael won't return to the show as he died after sustaining the gunshot wound?

Since production has been very much mum about the plot of season three, fans have also been talking about the possibilities for Jane (Gina Rodriguez) and Rafael (Justin Baldoni) to get closer to each other now that Michael is on his death bed.

It has also been recently confirmed that Jane will finally lose her virginity belt in "Jane the Virgin" season three. The biggest question is who the lucky guy will be. With Michael unconscious and unable to be at Jane's side at the moment, it is easy to conclude that Rafael will be that lucky guy who will take Jane out of her safe zone.

However, there have also been rumors regarding Michael's recovery. Some suggest that he will recover just in time to finally sleep with Jane. The speculations are merely as they are right now as there is no official word on who among the two men in Jane's life she will lose her virginity to.

Meanwhile, Rodriguez recently shared with Gold Derby how she felt after being "snubbed" at the Emmys this year. She said that last year, people told her she will get nominated and this year, it was the same. However, she never got the nomination. "And that was okay because people were talking about me having the ability to even be considered," she said.

"Jane the Virgin" season three is slated to premiere on Monday, October 17 at 9:00 p.m. EST on The CW.
