Robert Downey Jr. is undeniably one of the most popular Hollywood stars these days, especially after he donned the "Iron Man" suit. Recent reports suggest that his talent fee may go up to $100 million in the next "Avengers" installment.

A recent report by The New York Daily News says a source close to the upcoming "Avengers" movie commented that RDJ's talent fee could double in the very near future. It appears that Marvel isn't ready to let go of RDJ yet even if this is the case.

The insider said: "Marvel knows that he is their quarterback for these films leading the fans through the adventures. To have to find a new Tony Stark and make fans love him would be a near impossible challenge."

The question is: Will RDJ also gain the rumored amount if "Iron Man 4" takes place?

So far, Marvel has not announced a release for the highly anticipated sequel and some fans are getting worried that it may never happen. RDJ's Tony Stark will still be part of "Avengers: Infinity War - Part 1" but there is no news about his fourth "Iron Man" film.

There is also little known about the plot for the upcoming movie since it has not been officially announced yet. On the other hand, recent reports suggest that Tony may either be killed off in "Infinity War" or he will be forced to retire.

The rumors go on to explain that one of the reasons why Tony may no longer make it in "Iron Man 4" is due to the entry of Riri Williams in the comic books. Riri is Tony's protégé in the comics series and she was only introduced earlier this year. Marvel has not yet addressed the rumors.

It has yet to be revealed what Marvel is planning for RDJ's Tony or if "Iron Man 4" is still on the table. On the other hand, fans are still hoping that the sequel will come into fruition as part of the film giant's MCU Phase 3 lineup.
