iPod Touch 7th generation specs and features wish list and rumors
Apple waited three years before bringing out the 6th-generation iPod touch and this does not bode well for the 7th generation of the device that users are already looking forward to. With the 6th generation of the iPod Touch releasing last year, it could be years before the next one comes out, but a wish list for the device is being drawn up.
Discussing the necessity of creating a 7th-generation iPod touch, Product Reviews states that fans of the media player already have a list of features they want to arrive with it. Among the most requested features is Touch ID, which will enable users to unlock the iPod touch using their fingerprint. Additionally, if Touch ID comes to the 7th-generation iPod touch, Apple could also allow users to employ Apple Pay with it. This will be a nifty feature for users to have on the iPod touch, which already has the Wallet facility to store credit card information.
As of now, Apple Pay is only available for the iPhone and iPad lineup, and Apple has not announced any plans of bringing it to the upcoming 7th-generation iPod Touch. However, this could very well change in the future as more people start using contactless payment options.
Coming to the other feature that people want on the iPod touch from Apple is a bigger display. This means that in addition to the 4-inch version, there are requests for another one with a bigger screen. A number of users have also been hinting that they would like to have a better and possibly bigger flashlight and even wireless charging. With wireless charging slowly becoming available for metal-bodied devices, it is likely that Apple could also include it on iPods in the future. Finally, it is likely that Apple will increase the number of colors for the iPod touch 7th generation.
