(Apple)In photo is the fourth-generation of iPad mini. Upcoming mini 5 rumored to arrive in March.

After the release of iPad mini 4 in September 2015, Apple became silent about its plans for the device's successor. But those who are still interested in purchasing the next-generation tablet device are still hoping to hear some news about the iPad mini 5 during the company's next keynote event.

Previous reports believed that the next iPad mini product line will be unveiled during the annual company announcement back in September 2016, alongside the release of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus smartphone lines. However, the mini tablet device failed to make it during the announcement.

Another keynote event was conducted in October 2016, yet the information about the iPad mini 5 remains concealed.

Recent rumors claim that the Cupertino-based tech firm is planning to announce the latest line of iPad products in March. This could mean that details about the highly anticipated iPad mini 5 will finally be unveiled during the said event.

But other speculations claim that the iPad mini product line will be replaced by the rumored 7.9-inch variant of the iPad Pro, which will reportedly be known as the iPad Pro mini. The smaller version of the iPad Pro line is believed to have the same dimensions as those in the iPad mini 4, but it is expected to be thinner and much lighter.

Other reports claim that the replacement for the iPad mini 4 will feature the tech giant's A9 processor. Yet, there is also a chance to see it come out with the latest A10 processor. However, there are also speculations claiming that the device could have an M9 co-processor to help its motion tracking function.

The next-generation mini tablet from Apple is also expected to have a 3 GB RAM, compared to the 2 GB RAM of its predecessor. The device's camera is also expected to have an increase.

Details about the rumored iPad mini 5 could be announced by Apple soon.
