'Injustice' gameplay to be unveiled in Mortal Kombat X Pro League Finals today
After long speculations, it can be finally confirmed that the DC game "Injustice" has a sequel after all. "Injustice's" official Facebook page has just uploaded a poster that earlier stirred the speculation that the game is having a sequel.
It was earlier speculated that there is an "Injustice 2," after a poster showing Batman and The Flash about to attack each other leaked. It was later found out that the poster is meant as a freebie for those who will place a pre-order for the game.
According to Polygon, the store managers of GameStop received an advice from the corporate, telling them that local stores will receive the said posters as a bonus to those who will make an advanced purchase of the still unnamed game. Apparently, someone took a photo of the said poster and leaked it online.
GameSpot also reported earlier that NetherRealm boss Ed Boon changed his Twitter avatar to "II," with a background image of a drumroll. According to the gaming website, Boon has a reputation of teasing game reveals before they are finally unveiled. Hence, GameSpot insinuated that it may have a link to the then alleged "Injustice 2" game.
As of this writing, though, it is still unclear as to what platform "Injustice 2" game will be played on. It can only be presumed that it will be available for gamers with PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles.
NetherRealm is the developer of the first "Injustice" game, which was titled "Injustice: Gods Among Us." The game was released for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC in April 2013. Later, an Ultimate Edition of the game was released with its improved visuals and was made available to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One console owners.
"Injustice: Gods Among Us" follows a story set in an alternate reality, wherein the Joker deceives Superman and makes him kill Lois Lane and his son. Superman eventually makes himself as the High Councilor of the World Government and turns himself into a tyrant leader. With this, Batman leads a group of rebel forces, and the heroes and villains of the DC Universe are left with no choice but to take sides.
Apart from uploading the said poster, "Injustice's" Facebook page also teases the reveal of the sequel's gameplay during the Mortal Kombat X (MKX) ProLeague Finals on Saturday.
