'Incredibles 2' will differ from modern superhero movies by focusing on Parr family dynamics

After 10 years since the release of "The Incredibles," Disney and Pixar finally made the official announcement of its sequel last March 2014.
During the D23 Expo, Pixar's Chief Executive, John Lasseter, also revealed the sequel's movie poster during the presentation. Unfortunately, not much else was revealed about the upcoming sequel.
Brad Bird, director for the original 2004 "The Incredibles," will be back to direct the sequel.
According to Pixar head, John Lasseter, "Brad Bird is returning to make the 'Incredibles 2.' He has found a really great story. We're just starting developing. He's come back now after 'Tomorrowland.' We're really excited but I can't say much more about that."
Disney and Pixar have yet to announce a release date. Lasseter mentioned that 2016's Disney Expo will come before the film's release. "You'll hear about it in two years," Lasseter said. This may indicate either a late 2017 or early 2018 release.
Brad Bird also spoke to Cinema Blend to give his thoughts about the vast number of superhero films that have been released since 2004's "The Incredibles." Bird mentioned that he has developed an interesting story that aims to set itself apart from other superhero films.
"For me, the interesting thing was never the superhero part of it. It was more the family dynamic, and how do superhero things play into that. So the movie is a step further in that direction – but I do have a story idea that I think is very intriguing, and not like anything else," Bird said. Like Lasseter, he refused to comment any further on the movie's possible plot.
It is still unknown whether "Incredibles 2" will resume right after the events of the first film, or whether we will see a time jump parallel to the 10 years that have since passed.
If the film decides to have a time jump, viewers may see some cast changes for the upcoming sequel. There is a possibility that Spencer Fox, who voiced Dash, may not return. Fox is already 22-years-old and will surely have a much deeper voice by now.
Viewers may also be interested to see an older Jack Jack appear on screen. In the first movie, viewers did not know much about him up until the end, where his superpowers were revealed. According to Cinema Blend, it is likely that the sequel will focus on Jack Jack.
In the 2005 animation short, "Jack Jack Attack," viewers learned more about the youngest member of the Parr family. The short film chronicled what happened in the Parr household when the Parr family was out and Kari, the babysitter, was left to care for Jack Jack. Kari was left to witness the debut of Jack Jack's superpowers which included levitation, invisibility, super speed, super strength, teleportation, shape shifting, laser vision and the ability become a human fireball.
It will be interesting to see how the other family members will react and adapt to Jack Jack, who has now become the most powerful superhero in the family.
