Huawei's new phablet is set to debut in China today, Aug. 1 and its impressive specs have already made the rounds.
The 6.6-inch tablet carries advanced specs that should make it an appropriate contender for top-notch brands of mobile devices these days. The phablet will come with a Quad HD 2K display, or more specifically, a 2,560 x 1,440 pixel resolution. It will also run on an octa-core Kirin 955 chipset, coupled with 4 GB of RAM and a 64 GB internal storage capacity. The phablet will also have a whopping 4,400 mAh battery.
When it comes to the camera, the Honor Note 8 will offer 13 megapixels on the rear or main camera and an eight megapixel one on the front which is perfect for selfies. The device will also come preloaded with Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
Although the device has not been officially released yet, rumors have it that it will be priced somewhere around $300. It is also said to come in two variants – the aforementioned 4 GB device, which is believed to be the high-end variant, and a 3 GB low-end variant. Phone Arena notes that this phablet will not be available in markets outside of China.
Although Honor Note 8 won't make it to other markets, Huawei is still set to release another smartphone from the Honor line this month. The Honor line is well accepted by the Western markets and the Honor 8 will make a debut at a San Francisco event on Aug. 16. This should be the second Honor smartphone to arrive in the U.S., the first being the Honor 5X.
As mentioned in the report from Android Central, the Honor 8 is almost identical to Huawei P9 in terms of specs. The new Honor device will come with a Kirin 950 processor, coupled with a 3 GB of RAM. It will also have a 32 GB of internal storage. Other features include a 3,000 mAh battery unit, a main dual camera setup, and a USB-Type C connectivity.
