HTC Nexus phone release date, features: Google flagship handsets to launch Oct. 4; New video suggests all-metal Marlin

(www.htc.com)The HTC-made Nexus phones may finally be launched on Oct.4.

In less than two months from now, the hardcore Android fans are in for their biggest surprise—the launching of the next Google Nexus smartphones.

Droid-Life confirmed that the HTC-made Google Nexus phones Marlin and Sailfish are slated to be released on Oct. 4. While this is considerably a new development, it should be noted that Google is known for releasing these smartphones during the end of September and has also launched their flagship devices in early October. Last year's Nexus 6P was officialized at the end of September while 2014's Nexus 6 was introduced in 2014.

As such, the imminent announcement of these flagship smartphones has been propelled to further spotlight lately as new videos that show the purported designs of the upcoming devices have surfaced. One video has shown that the Nexus Marlin may be encased in all-metal structure. Meanwhile, a second video from YouTube channel Techconfigurations has been released which corroborated the purported metal finish, a design that is reminiscent of HTC 10, the company's flagship device this year.

Alongside the glaring design of the handset came quite a number of the device's rumored specifications, too. Despite an apparent mistake of the video, the clip has indicated that the device may be sporting a Snapdragon 820/821 mobile central processing unit (CPU). Further, Nexus Marlin is expected to run the Android 7.0 operating system and a 4GB Random Access Memory.

On the other hand, the other variant, the more affordable Nexus Sailfish is rumored to be encased in a plastic finish. Its specifications have also made the rounds on the internet due to its benchmarks through GFXBench. The benchmarks have indicated that the handset may be equipped with a 5-inch 1080p display, a Snapdragon 820 processor, 4 gigabytes of RAM, 32 GB of storage and a 12-megapixel rear camera which will be coupled with an 8-MP front-facing camera.
