'How to Get Away with Murder' season 2 update: cast gets new addition in X-Men's Famke Janssen as another defense lawyer

Things are going to heat up in the second season of "How to Get Away with Murder" as the characters discover who murdered Rebecca Sutter — as well as, how. And new characters are joining the show to help uncover the truth.
It has previously been reported that Kendrick Sampson will be part of the "How to Get Away with Murder" cast in season two and is speculated to be the receiver of the text message sent by Rebecca Sutter (Katie Findlay) while on house arrest in Annalise Keating's (Viola Davis) home.
Now, another character is reported to be onboard the ABC's legal mystery drama series.
"X-Men" movies' Jean Grey, portrayed by Famke Janssen, is confirmed to be making her appearance in season two of the ABC drama. Her character will debut in the pilot episode of the new season and will be featured in a multi-episode story arc.
ABC, as always, has been keeping Janssen's character details under wrap – much like in the case of Sampson. But rumors say that Annalise may have found her match in Janssen's character as the former movie superhero will be stepping into the role of a brilliant and respected defense attorney.
Season one of "How to Get Away with Murder" ended with Annalise and Frank Delfino (Charlie Weber) discovering Rebecca's body in the basement. Annalise has spent most of the season defending Rebecca against charges of murdering Lila Stangard (Megan West), Annalise's husband Sam's (Tom Verica) mistress.
It was later revealed that Frank is the guilty party. The series also uncovers how Annalise's six students — Wes (Alfred Enoch), Connor (Jack Falahee), Michaela (Aja Naomi King), and Laurel (Karla Souza) — accidentally killed Sam and how Annalise helped them cover it up.
"How to Get Away with Murder" returns to ABC with its twists and turns for season two on Sept. 24, 2015.
