Politics has never been as interesting as it has been portrayed in the Netflix television series "House of Cards." And having been confirmed for its fourth season in 2016, the show has fans speculating on Frank Underwood's (Kevin Spacey) fate. The show's creator and executive producer lets fans in on some exclusive season four news.

Launched in 2013 and adapted from the UK original mini-series, "House of Cards" revolve around the political career of South Carolina's 5th district congressman Frank Underwood and his wife Claire Underwood (Robin Wright). The conclusion of the latest season saw a major fight between husband and wife that led to Claire walking out on Frank.

What will happen next is something creator and executive producer Michael Dobbs is not ready to share just yet. He teases that fans will have to wait for the fourth season to get some answers. What he is prepared to share, though, is that the upcoming season will be more wicked than the previous ones, as it will prove how untouchable Frank is but will also ease into how his actions are soon going to catch up to him.

"Oh, all politicians get their comeuppance at some point but the question is whether they survive and come back for more. Frank in season three said I'm on the way out, I'm not going to stand for re-election and then we discover by the end of season three perhaps he's changed his mind. So you can always expect the unexpected in politics," shares Dobbs in an exclusive with Express.co.uk.

Formed over a bottle of wine, "House of Cards" has marked some very notable milestones in television viewing. It is one of the first series Netflix launched, where a viewer can have access to all episodes at one go. It is also the first online-only TV show to be nominated for major Emmy awards.

Netflix will premiere "House of Cards" season four in 2016.
