Ever since it was revealed last year, the game "Horizon Zero Dawn" has been capturing the imagination of gamers who have been impressed with its setting and even its main female protagonist. As the New Year kicked off, it became clear that the fascination with the game was not going to die down and that this new offering will be very dense in nature.

GamingBolt, reporting on the open world format of "Horizon Zero Dawn," states that with this offering, the developer, Guerrilla Games, seems to have been able to leave behind the repetitive nature of the "Killzone" game franchise and has created something unique. It also adds that open world games like "Horizon Zero Dawn" are very common these days and come with a lot of content that bloats them, but thankfully, Guerrilla Games' latest offering seems to be trying to avoid this.

Guerrilla Games also outlined how it is planning to deal with the perceived bloat the open world games seem saddled with and instead of concentrating on creating a huge map, it created a huge amount of density in "Horizon Zero Dawn." An executive producer who is working on the game, Mark Norris, even hinted that unlike other open world games, the player will not have to run through vast expanses of nothing and instead, will have a number of activities to perform.

"Horizon Zero Dawn" was made public for the first time during E3 2015, and it was revealed then that the game would have a female protagonist by the name of Aloy. The game is set in a beautiful world where an apocalyptic event has struck and human civilization no longer exists. Instead, those who do live on Earth, in an era that is set about 1000 years in the future, have to hunt dinosaurs made of metal and other inorganic parts, and scavenge these in order for them to survive.
