'Homeland' season 5 episode 9 spoilers: Carrie tells Saul the truth about Allison but he refuses to believe her; Quinn is taken hostage

Carrie learned the hard truth about the woman that she had trusted for years in episode eight of "Homeland's" fifth season. Now it's Saul's turn to learn of Allison's betrayal. Unfortunately for Carrie, her old mentor doesn't appear to be buying what she's selling.

"Homeland" fans saw a desperate Carrie (Claire Danes) at the end of her rope when she asked Allison (Miranda Otto) for help in episode eight. Viewers also saw the journey that both women shared and how it came to pass that she became a traitor. Surprisingly, it turned out that love, that old cliché, was what made her a double agent. That, plus $4 million and the promise that she won't go to prison. But as they say, truth will out and Carrie discovered her secret.

Now all Carrie has to do is convince someone, namely Saul (Mandy Patinkin), about Allison's deception. But a trailer for the upcoming episode, titled "The Litvinov Ruse," shows that is easier said than done. The clip starts after Carrie has told Saul the truth and tells him that Allison wanted her dead to keep from being exposed as a secret agent. Carrie's mentor looks shaken and she realizes that Saul still believes Allison is innocent. He admits he doesn't know what to believe anymore. But despite what he has told his protégé, one scene shows Saul in a meeting where he tells his counterparts from Russian Intelligence that he has a proposal and adds that if Allison is indeed a double agent, then they all have a lot to lose.

The trailer also shows that Quinn (Rupert Friend) has been taken hostage, with the last scene a shot of the agent bound and laying on the floor. Another clip for episode nine shows one scene from the episode. Quinn is bound and gagged and being led by his captors into a building. He sees numerous computers and chemical tanks. His captors then chain him to the wall and duct tape his legs. One man watches and then offers him a drink, he refuses but asks the man something.

With Quinn literally in a bind and Saul doubting Carrie, viewers are wondering what her next move would be.

Episode nine of "Homeland" season five is set to be aired on Nov. 29.
