Carrie (Claire Danes) is a ticking time bomb in the upcoming season of "Homeland." Is Dar (F. Murray Abraham) really justified in his suspicions that she is up to no good?

According to the promo, the bad blood between Carrie and Dar still exists. The Black Ops director is still against her returning to the CIA. His view contrasts that of Saul (Mandy Patinkin), who is trying his best to convince his protégée to come back.

In the clip, Dar is telling Carrie that nothing has changed. She is still a menace in the United States, just like she was in Berlin.

It was previously revealed that after spending a long time overseas, the entire gang is back on home soil just in time for a pivotal moment in the country's history - the presidential elections.

For her part, Carrie also does not want to have a connection with Dar. She angrily warns him in the promo that she will go after him if he hurts her or her child, Frannie.

Carrie is back in New York to spend time with her daughter. She has no wish to return to the CIA. Instead, she is planning to start a firm that specializes in helping Muslim Americans facing discrimination. But is that all she wants to do? Dar appears to be waiting for her to make her move and reveal her true intention. Could Carrie really be the enemy this time around?

Meanwhile, viewers can look forward to an intense season in January. As per Indie Wire, the election of Elizabeth Keane (Elizabeth Marvel) as the next president will trigger a period of unrest all over the U.S.

Showrunner Alex Gansa has teased that the fight for power will take center stage. The CIA will be embroiled in a power struggle and even if she does not want to, so will Carrie.

"So who's really in power? Is it the sitting president? Is it the president elect? What is the business of the intelligence agencies? Is it to educate the new president coming in, who may have different ideas? What are their agendas with this new president, and how do Carrie, Saul, Dar and the whole ensemble fit into that complex transfer of power that occurs every year in this 72-day period?" the EP teased, according to Indie Wire.
