'Hawaii Five-O' season 7 premiere spoilers: Adam and Kono's relationship to be on reset mode

(Facebook/Hawaii Five -O)Adam and Kono's relationship will be on a reset mode when "Hawaii Five-O" returns for its seventh season.

Kono (Grace Park) and Adam (Ian Anthony Dale) will find their relationship on a reset mode when "Hawaii Five-0" returns for its season 7 run.

At the onset of the series' season 6, it can be recalled that Kono (Grace Park) and Adam (Ian Anthony Dale) were just starting to experience marital bliss when their honeymoon turned out to be a nightmare as Gabriel (Christopher Sean) had them kidnapped.

As if that traumatic honeymoon wasn't enough to put a strain on their relationship, in season 6 episode 8 of the series, Adam submitted himself to the authorities after killing two men he was told to kidnap by Goro Shioma (Akira Hirayama). Since then, he has been serving his jail term, which will last for two years, leaving the viewers wondering if his marriage with Kono will survive the odds.

Despite the numerous blows on their relationship, though, things may not be over between Kono and Adam. According to "Hawaii Five-0" showrunner Peter M. Lenkov, there is a possibility for the two to start all over again by, at least, rediscovering each other when the series returns for its seventh season.

"These two people have to get to know each other again. Some of that erode when there's distance., especially being in prison, your mind starts to wander and you start to question things. But their relationship is in a healthy place, I just think that they're going to need to get to know each other again when he comes out. But I think she will trust him," Lenkov told Entertainment Weekly as he teased of what the viewers can expect from "Hawaii Five-0" season 7 as far as Kono and Adam are concerned.

While it is true that it has already been teased that Adam will be set free from the prison in "Hawaii Five-0" season 7, fans of the show should not expect it to happen at the onset. For one thing, his jail term is for two years, and the series' upcoming season will immediately pick up from where it left off during its season 6 finale.

Will Adam and Kono finally have a chance at a happy ever after? Find out when "Hawaii Five-0" returns to CBS for its season 7 run on Sept. 23 at 9 p.m. ET.
