'Hawaii Five-0' season 7 premiere spoilers: Sneak peek teases Chin as Sara's guardian; will Catherine and Steve get back together?

(Twitter/HawaiiFive0CBS) Catherine Rollins' return doesn't mean that she and Steve McGarrett will renew their relationship.

Things will be a little bit different when "Hawaii Five-0" returns for a seventh season. As the team members take stock of their lives, they will find themselves getting closure in some areas and starting anew in others.

After his near-death experience in the season 6 finale, Steve McGarrett (Alex O'Loughlin) will reportedly be thinking more of what kind of legacy he will be leaving behind. Unfortunately for his good friend Danny Williams (Scott Caan), McGarrett's brush with death hasn't made him more careful. As a matter of fact, "Five-0's" leader will apparently be injured once again in the season 7 premiere.

Two season 7 photos released by TV Line teased that nothing has changed as far as McGarrett is concerned. One photo showed the former Navy Seal on a high-speed foot chase while another showed him down on the ground and sporting a new injury, something that Williams doesn't take too kindly to.

"There is an arc with Danny trying to get McGarrett to slow down a bit and appreciate the fact that he's been given a second chance - or fifth chance, maybe sixth, based on all the stuff he's gone through in the series," explained "Hawaii Five-0" showrunner Peter M. Lenkov.

McGarrett will reportedly also be getting some closure on several personal issues in the show's 150th episode. The milestone episode will see the return of Doris McGarrett (Christine Lahti) and Catherine Rollins (Michelle Borth). The former will reportedly be returning to help her son on a case while the latter's intentions are still unknown at this point. However, fans shouldn't expect old flames to be rekindled. As Lenkov explained to EW, Rollins' return "is more plot driven than reigniting that relationship."

Chin Ho (Daniel Dae Kim) is also at a crossroads in season 7. The former police officer will have to make a decision with regards to what kind of relationship he'll have with his niece Sara (Londyn Silzer), Gabriel Waincroft's daughter. While Sara has family in Mexico, Chin would want to make sure that that's the best place for her. A little clip that Kim shared on his Instagram showed a little bonding time between the two, with Chin acting and looking like a doting dad. But will he take that big step in the upcoming season?
