'Grimm' season 6 spoilers: Renard the main villain?
Writers of the popular TV series "Grimm" started writing for season 6 on June 6. While viewers can only speculate on what happens next after an intense season 5 finale, actor David Giuntoli might have slipped about an ultimate showdown between his character and that of actor Sasha Roiz.
Actress Bitsie Tulloch had an exciting story arc in season 5 and it looks like she can't wait for what happens next. It was her tweet that revealed the start of writing for season 6. On June 6 she posted, "Wish the @GrimmWriters some luck! Today 1st day back for @NBCGrimm Season6!"
Tulloch's character Juliette was introduced as Nick's (Giuntoli) long-time partner when the series started. She eventually learned about Nick's secret identity and the world of wesens and helped in the fight against the villains. However in season 4, events led her to become a Hexenbiest and when that season ended, she succumbed to the dark side and was thought to be dead.
After a few episodes in season 5, she was resurrected and then assumed the name of Eve. As Eve, she worked with Hadrian's Wall and while she remembers things about Juliette, she is devoid of emotional connections to her former self. In the finale, she was healed of her wounds and of her Hexenbiest being as well.
In the meantime one, of Nick's allies, Renard (Roiz), gave in to his political ambitions and was lured to form an alliance with season 5's main antagonist, the Black Claw. The last scene shows him save Nick from being killed by the Black Claw leader under the control of another powerful being.
The cliffhanger shows Nick and Renard face to face and startled by the events. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Giuntoli revealed it would be hard for Renard to win his former team's trust again. The actor said, "No, he's not infected with some spell. I think Renard just wants power right now. So, I think it'd be hard for him to come back to the gang." Giuntoli was quick to point out, however, that anything is possible in the show.
When asked if the Black Claw organization will be back, he said, "Oh, that group is so done. They're not gonna come for me again; I killed like 30 people that tried to get me. Now it's Renard versus Nick. I think."
Renard's loyalty has always been teased throughout the show. He is a member of the royal family of the wesens who eventually helped Nick and his allies in their fight against his kind. Despite showing many times how he puts justice above all, his love of power has been constantly teased.
"Grimm" season 6's premiere date has yet to be announced.
