'Girl Meets World' season 4 news, cancellation: Disney Channel keeps mum; Rowan Blanchard hopeful for a renewal

(Disney)“Girl Meets World” season 3 is on a one-week break. It will return with episode 15, titled “Girl Meets World of Terror 3,” as this season’s Halloween special.

Disney Channel's coming-of-age series, "Girl Meets World," is still on its third season run. However, there are already heaps of rumors that the series may no longer return for a fourth season.

"Girl Meets World" is apparently facing cancellation and the rumors have been circulating so many possible reasons behind it. However, Disney Channel remains tight-lipped about the issue.

According to reports, one of the possible reasons behind the cancellation could be the age of the main cast of the series. The gang has already grown so much that there is fear that the viewers may no longer relate to them. Another reported reason is that there may be creative differences between the people working on the show and the network.

However, fans should take these rumors with a grain of salt because nothing has been confirmed yet. Disney Channel has not released any official statement that could confirm the show's cancellation, too.

Despite the speculations, lead actress Rowan Blanchard, who plays Riley, is still hoping for a season 4 renewal. In an interview with Just Jared, the star said, "We are hoping for a Season 4, obviously, because we want to continue our story, and I feel like it's an important story to tell. But as of right now, we just finished [filming] Season 3 and we're still waiting on the word. But we do have more episodes coming out this year that air into early 2017, so we're covered for a little bit."

Blanchard also shared something about the love triangle between Riley, Maya (Sabrina Carpenter), and Lucas (Peyton Meyer). Although the main relationship that the show focuses on is their love triangle, the actress thinks that it is only a metaphor to Riley and Maya's friendship. The actress added, no matter happens, their friendship cannot be broken over a boy.

Currently, "Girl Meets World" season 3 is on a one-week break. It will return with episode 15, titled "Girl Meets World of Terror 3," as this season's Halloween special.

More details about "Girl Meets World" season 4 may be announced soon.
