'Girl Meets World' season 3 spoilers: Love triangle resolved – Will Lucas end up with Maya?

(Girl Meets World / Disney Channel)Will Lucas end up with Maya?

The Maya-Lucas-Riley triangle has always been an important focus of the "Girl Meets World" universe and people have yet to know who gets to end up with who.

It was already confirmed that this never-ending issue with the love triangle will be resolved this season. In an interview with The Wrap in March, series creator Michael Jacobs confirmed it, saying that addressing the love triangle "will span probably a third to a half of Season 3. Not as primary focus, but always as an underlying thing in existence for the characters."

It's either Lucas (Peyton Meyer) ends up with Riley (Rowan Blanchard) or Maya (Sabrina Carpenter) – no one knows. Then again, it's also possible that none of them will end up together. However, according to one Twitter user named Montse, Lucas will end up with Maya based on the clue she found on a teaser photo.

Montse shared the photo which was allegedly for the upcoming episode "Girl Meets Ski Lodge," airing on July 15. It showed two unidentified youngsters locked in an embrace. This photo was compared to a photo of Lucas and Maya together in the previous season and somehow their clothes matched. This then led to the speculation that Lucas ends up with Maya.

This may be good news for all those who were rooting for a Lucas-Maya relationship, but this remains as speculation and has not been confirmed yet, so fans will just have to keep tuning in to the series to find out soon.

Meanwhile, in this week's episode of "Girl Meets World," Maya is set to return to her rebellious side once again as she feels she has lost her identity. The official synopsis didn't reveal much but it only mentioned that Maya will pull off a bad deed "to balance out all the good she's done lately..." How bad this deed will be remains to be seen but Carter Matt speculates that she will likely pull a prank on someone.

"Girl Meets World" returns this Friday, July 8 at 8:30 p.m. on Disney.
